I haven't heard about Limbo, but I understand the RC church have already made Purgatory redundant, or unofficial, or somehow made away with it. I'm afraid churches who change the rules to suit themselves will never win my respect. more…

The veils in question are those which cover the eyes. I draw your attention to the comments made by Mr Straw and suggest (with due respect) that you get your facts right. I also draw your attention to recent comments in the media about faith schools in particular those who want to abolish Church of England and Roman Catholic schools. more…

Most variants of the veil show the eyes, just not the rest of the face, so that's a rather weak argument.
I'm a Christian and I oppose picking on Muslims. Tell me who is bashing Christianity in the UK? Are people saying that nuns should no longer be able to wear wimples? Or that Christian churches shouldn't be built in particular place more…

I recently saw exerts from the Fresh Expressions of Church video - I gather the whole thing is a bit long, but loved the bits I saw - Messy Church - and one young father saying he comes because its not boring and is fun!
I guess you will have seen it too. It really cheered me as presenting a refreshing range of ideas of what some peo more…

well I'm a parent and wonder how teachers can be supported? My daughter is always in trouble at school yet has not learned any disrespect for teachers or school from me. Am at a loss. She says it is peer group pressure that encourages her to misbehave - she says if you are "geeky, nerdy or a boffin you get bullied". Consequently I get regular compl more…

All part of my and (wife's) theological breakfast musings this morning. That is what comes when two theology graduates are joined in unholy marriage. It all came about when we were told that in the eyes of the Church we are not really married because I went and got divorced 10 years ago. Utter tosh! She has got to get a bit of paper from the Archbi more…

It is a funny old world indeed...
...the clergy who won't bless gays and won't marry divorced people are probably not those who bless warships (and thankfully there are lots more gays couples and remarried divorcees than there are warships built)
I wonder which side of all this Jesus would have taken, that old people-lovin more…

Im personally not a churchy goer - but if there was more honesty by those working within oragnised religion - it would be a masive step in the righ direction.

Sat down this morning to start some work on the project. Did not get far before I was distracted by several domestic tasks and the need to write the GCSE scheme of work.
Having completed some very (I think so) slides for Mark's Gospel I returned to musing on the project.
Had a brain wave and decided to write some notes based on last ni more…

Neil, it was good to hear from you. How was Walsingham? I saw pics in the Church Times of a police car taking Jesus away. Looks interesting!
I do love Walsingham - but sadly they don't love me! I went there a year ago with the Scottish Pilgrimage but was not allowed to do anything and found it hard to stand and watch all my fellow cle more…
